The client
Stanley Arts, formerly Stanley Halls, is a community arts venue and registered charity in South Norwood, South London. It runs theatre, music, comedy, film and family events alongside exhibitions, youth and community programmes, co-working space and venue hire.
What I did
I built a custom WordPress theme that gives every part of the organisation a home, and that the team can grow as new projects and seasons come along.
- What’s on. Event listings built on The Events Calendar Pro and Event Tickets, with filters for category and date, and featured events on the homepage.
- A content type for everything. Artistic programmes, community arts, exhibitions, galleries, commissions, opportunities, podcasts, videos and oral histories each have their own archive and templates, managed with ACF.
- Campaign pages. Dedicated templates for projects such as Arcadia and Climate & Nature, and an online treasure hunt with typewriter-style clues.
- Venue hire and co-working. Pages that sell the building’s spaces, with enquiry forms.
- Supporting the charity. Donation and regular-supporter pages, and an affordable tickets scheme.
Result
The theme has grown with the organisation, with new templates added for new campaigns and seasons, and it remains the hub for everything happening at the venue.
Chris built a website that can keep up with everything we do, from our events and exhibitions to our community programmes and venue hire. It's easy for the team to add new projects and campaigns, and he has been a reliable partner as the site has grown with us.
