The client
Queer Croydon is a community-led organisation creating opportunities for LGBT+ people across Croydon and South London to connect, create, thrive and belong. Founded during Croydon’s year as London Borough of Culture, it now runs social events, creative wellness sessions, swimming, trans youth mentoring, counselling and a RADAR key scheme.
What I did
The site is a custom WordPress theme, built to be as loud and welcoming as the community it serves, and simple for a small volunteer team to keep up to date.
- What’s on. Events with date, time, location, price and access information, filterable by date range (Search & Filter Pro), each with an add-to-calendar button.
- Articles. News and community updates, categorised and featured on the homepage alongside upcoming events.
- Community submissions. A submission page with a content guide and a form, so members can send in content for the team to review.
- Services and support. Pages for counselling, services and the RADAR key scheme, with a request form.
Result
The team publishes new events and articles every month, and the site has become the home for Queer Croydon’s programme.
Chris built us a website that feels like Queer Croydon: bold, joyful and welcoming. It is easy for our volunteers to add events and articles, and our community can find everything they need in one place.
